Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will conduct Common Entrance Test, also know as KCET. Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry papers are a part of KCET 2018. One day later Kannada Language Test will be conducted for Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates only.

KCET 2018 is the held to determine the merit for admission to professional courses including engineering, medical, architecture, health sciences, agriculture, veterinary science and animal husbandry, pharmacy. Common Entrance Exam is not conducted for Medical and Architecture courses. Admission to Medical and dental programs will be done on basis of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2018 conducted by CBSE and Architecture programs will be done on the basis of NATA 2018 (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture. KCET 2018 Application Form

KCET 2018 Application Form will be released online by the Karnataka Examinations Authority for eligibile candidates so that they can apply for Karnataka Common Entrance Test.

Before applying, you must ensure that you fulfill the eligibility criteria for your respective course.

You will need to fill the following details in KCET 2018 application form.

  • Name of candidate, candidate’s father and mother.
  • Annual income of parent.
  • Religion, caste and reservation code.
  • Date of birth.
  • Qualifying examination details.
  • Communication details.

KCET 2018 Admit Card (Hall Ticket)

The KCET 2018 Admit Card will be issued to those candidates who have submitted the application form before last date. KCET Admit Card is available for download as per schedule mentioned above. Download it using login details, which are generated during filling up of application form. KCET Hall Ticket 2018 must contain the following information.

  • Name and other details of candidate,
  • Thumb impression,
  • Examination center assigned.

KCET 2018 Exam Pattern

KCET exam pattern 2018 explains the marking scheme, number of questions, and other relevant details that a candidate must know before attempting the Karnataka Common Entrance Test. Based on the course (Engg., Medical, Ayurveda, Pharmacy), candidates will have to attempt physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics papers in the KCET 2018 exam.

  • Question paper of Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics will each be of 60 marks.
  • Kannada language test of 50 marks shall be conducted for Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates.
  • Agricultural practical examination of 200 marks to be held for claiming seats under agriculturist quota.
  • There is no negative marking.

KCET Syllabus

The KCET 2018 Syllabus, as defined by the competent authority. The question papers of the Common Entrance Test will be based on the First and Second PUC syllabi prescribed by the Department of Pre-University Education of Karnataka State.

Kannada Language Test

The candidates claiming eligibility for Government seats under Horanadu & Gadinadu Kannadiga clauses and whose mother tongue is Kannada, Tulu or Kodava, will have to undergo a Kannada language test, to establish their ability to speak, read and write Kannada. It will be conducted by KEA as per the above schedule only in Bangalore Centre.

You must have relevant photocopy of original documents of the parents in support of claim such as marks cards, study certificates, along with the CET admission ticket should be produced on the day of Kannada Language Test.

The minimum passing marks for all Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates shall be 12 out of 50 marks in Kannada Language Examination conducted by KEA in order to be considered for assignment of ranks and to become eligible for allotment of seats in CET-2018. (The Kannada Language Test paper will be of 4th Standard Level)

However, the Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates who have studied TEN full academic years in Kannada Medium from 1st standard to 10th standard in places outside the state of Karnataka need not appear for Kannada Language Test conducted by KEA.

KCET 2018 Answer Key

After the exam is conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), official answer key of KCET 2018 shall be published. Candidates will be given a stipulated duration in which they can suggest discrepancies in the KCET 2018 answer key.

KCET 2018 Result

On the basis of answers marked in the KCET 2018 entrance exam, candidates will be awarded marks in the exam.

KCET 2018 result and merit list shall be based on the marks obtained by the candidate.

Candidate will have to obtain minimum qualifying (cut-off) mark (wherever specified) for the specified course, in order to get a place in the KCET 2018 merit list.

The Karnataka CET Result 2018 will be published as per schedule. On the KEA Website after the declaration of the result, the candidates may not get ranks assigned.

Exact number of seats offered through KCET 2018 for admission 2018-2019 will be announced after the result is declared. Last year’s seat matrix published for the first round of counselling is given below. This will give you an idea of the scale at which the Karnataka CET 2018 will be held.
