KCET Result 2017 (kea.kar.nic.in) – Karnataka CET ResultsKarnataka Examination Authority (KEA) will be conducted KCET 2018 in the month of May 2018. The exam will be held in offline mode and candidates marked the answers on an OMR sheet.

KCET 2018 Result Dates

The result of Karanataka CET 2018 will state the score and the rank of the candidates. However, if the candidate has not submitted PUC or class 12th marks, then the rank will not appear on the displayed result. Hence, to know the rank, candidates must submit the qualifying exam marks.

How to Check KCET Result

The candidates may check the result of KCET 2018 by following the steps below:

KCET 2018 Merit List

The merit list of KCET 2018 will be published on the official website, which is kea.kar.nic.in. It will state the rank allocated to candidates on the basis of KCET score and remaining criteria.

Tie Breaking Mechanism for KCET 2018 Result

While allocating the merit, if the rank of two or more candidates clashes then the following method is used to break the tie.

Medical Courses: In courses which are related to Medicine and Homoeopathy the following method is used to break the tie:

  • Marks obtained in Biology is considered
  • If tie did not break, marks in Chemistry is checked
  • To break the tie further, the qualifying exam score is checked
  • Lastly, candidates with higher age is allocated seat.

Engineering / Technology: For course related to Engineering and Technology, the following mechanism is used:

  • First, the marks in Mathematics is looked at.
  • The tie is not broken by above method then the score of Physics is considered.
  • Marks in qualifying exam will also be checked if the tie still prevails.
  • Lastly, the elder candidates is allocated rank.

B.Arch – KEA has use the following method to break the tie of B.Arch aspirant and release the correct KCET 2018 Result

  • The score of Mathematics is checked and if it did not break the tie, elder candidates is allocated higher rank.

Note: If nothing worked to break the tie then KEA uses the draw of lots method.

Withholding of KCET 2018 Result

Along with the KCET result 2018, the conducting body will also announce the list of candidates who result has been withheld. The reason for withholding of KCET 2018 result will also be announced. If the rank has not been allocated to the candidates due to lack of 2nd PUC / 12th std score then candidates need not worry. As soon as the class 12th result is announced, the rank is allocated to the candidates.

  • Candidates must submit the photocopy of the qualifying exam marks sheet either in person or via ‘speed post’.

Allocation of KCET 2018 Rank Against Withheld Result

The reasons due to which the rank will not be allocated to the candidates are:

  • Incorrect marking of version code.
  • Marks of qualifying exams are yet to be submitted.
  • Change in the marks of qualifying examinations due to the revaluation of scores.

Normally the merit of KCET is assigned on the basis of the score but if any of the above mentioned cases prevails then the rank to the candidates  assigned later on. So, how will KEA assign the rank then, without altering the rank of the other candidates? Well, for this, the solution is provided by the rank allocating system. The system used by KEA is intelligent enough to allocate rank between two integers.

Challenging KCET Result 2018

If the candidates have any doubt about the entries in the result sheet related to scoring of the Qualifying Exam or NATA or NEET or any other exam they may submit the objection. However, it should be noted that the candidates cannot challenge the score KCET 2018.

The objective is to be submitted within three days from the announcement of the result. KEA will cross check all the details and will announce the result again.

Note: Retotaling of KCET 2018 OMR sheet will not be entertained.

What After the Announcement of KCET 2018 Result

Once the result of KCET 2018 will be announced, the counselling and seat allocation schedule will be released. The qualified candidates will first have to get their documents verified. If the verification is done successfully then the candidates will be called for seat allocation. The allocation of seats will be done on the basis of KCET 2018 Rank.
