UP JEE 2018 Counselling details will be available soon. The conducting body, JEE Council UP (JEECUP) will release the counselling notice on the official website, which is www.jeecup.org and jeecup.nic.in. Only the qualifiers of UP JEE 2018 is allowed to participate in the counselling. However, the seats will only be allocated to those candidates who will clear the document verification round. Eligibility Criteria to Participate in the Counseling of JEECUP 2018

Only the eligible candidates will be allocated seat in the counselling rounds. The eligibility requirements to be fulfilled by the candidates are as below:

Resident of Uttar Pradesh – A candidates will be treated as the resident of UP, if:

  • They possess a domicile of UP.
  • Their parents are domicile of UP.
  • If the candidates passed the qualifying exam from UP.
  • If the either of candidate’s parents works in Government sector in UP.

Other State Candidates – The candidates who do not fall under the above mentioned category, will be considered for seat allocation only if the seats are left unfilled after the counselling of the state candidates.

Rank in JEECUP – Candidate must have secured a suitable rank in UP JEECUP 2018. It is also necessary for the candidate to fulfill the eligibility criteria of the examination.

2nd Round of Counselling Process
Who are not eligible?
1. Those who are not reported at allotted institute for document verification after seat allotment in the
previous round.
2. Those candidates whose allotted seat cancelled due to non-fulfillment of documents & other criteria of admission and become permanently ineligible for the entire rounds of counseling.
Who are eligible?
There are four Groups of eligible candidates:
1. Group–I (Fresh candidates )
a. Who are not registered in the earlier round can register and pay the registration fee to participate in
this round.
b. Those who are registered earlier but not paid registration fee need to pay registration fee to
participate in this round.
c. Those who have registered and also paid registration fee but not submitted any choices in the
earlier round.
d. All such types of candidates are permitted to modify/add new choices or their existing choices
would be considered for seat allotment.
The Following Group Candidates need not to Register and pay counseling Fee.
2. Group–II
a. (Cancelled candidates): Those candidates whose allotted seat got cancelled in the earlier
round of counseling due to non-fulfillment of seat allotment criteria are also permitted to
modify/add new choices or their existing choices would be considered for seat allotment.
b. (Old Candidates): Those candidates who are registered and given choices but did not get
any allotment in previous rounds.
3. Group–III (Reported and Freeze candidates): Those candidates would not be allowed to submit fresh choices or modify choices. Their earlier allotted seat would be retained..
4. Group–IV (Reported and Float candidates): Those candidates are permitted to modify/add new choices or their existing choices would be considered for up gradation. If they want to modify their choices they can do so but their previously allotted seat (Institute and course) will remain as a valid choice in this round. System will not permit the candidates to delete this choice; however they can rearrange this choice (Move-UP or Move-Down) as per their order of preference. These Candidates need not to Register and pay counseling Fee.

Round of UP JEE Counselling 2018

In all, there will be 4 rounds in the counselling of UP JEE 2018. The candidates who will register and submit the choices in round 1, will not be allowed to upgrade details of choices in round 2, 3 and 4 of counselling. Similarly, candidates registering and submitting choices in round 2 will not be allowed to change or add choices in 3 and 4 round of counselling, so on and so forth.

Process of JEECUP 2018 Counselling

The procedure of UP JEE Counselling 2018 is as below:

Registration –  The registration window for the counselling will open online. The link to register will be soon updated on this page. Candidates will be able to access the registration login by submitting the Application Number and Password, as created during the application form filling. The candidates will also have to the registration fee. It was Rs. 250 last year and is expected to be almost the same this year.

Choice Filling – The facility to submit the choices for the course and the colleges will be provided online. The choice filling portal will open on the official website, which is jeecup.nic.in and www.jeecup.org. The candidates will be required to submit the choices in the order of priority. The candidates will be able to make their choices for branches and institutes within a particular time frame only.

Document Verification – The document verification will be done at the counselling centre. The list these centres will be announced soon. It will be done to ensure that the details about age, education qualification, caste, etc submitted in the application form were authentic. SC, ST, OBC and PwD, MP, FF candidates will be required to carry original documents, as issued by the competent authority. Lack of even a single document will hamper the candidature.

Seat Allotment – The seats to the candidates will be allocated on the basis of various factors, like:

  • Submitted Choices
  • Reservation Policy
  • JEECUP State Open Rank 2018

After the allocation of the seat, the candidates will have to remit the security fee amount. Last year, the amount of fee was Rs. 3000. The candidates will also have the option to withdraw or float. The candidates who will opt for the float option will be considered for up gradation of the seats.
